HASAN PIKER BUILT THE AMERICAN DREAM SELLING CONTEMPT FOR AMERICA
At some point, “edgy streamer” stops being an excuse. And when politicians start treating Hasan Piker like a legitimate political power broker, maybe Americans should finally pay attention to what the fuck he’s been saying.
“America deserved 9/11, dude. Fuck it, I’m saying it.”
Those are Hasan Piker’s words.
Not mine. Not some selectively edited Republican campaign ad. Not something somebody claims he said behind closed doors.
He fucking said it.
In 2019, Piker said America “deserved 9/11” while ranting about American foreign policy. After the backlash exploded, he called his language “inappropriate” and said he should have been more precise. He also described it as satire. (Breitbart)
Fine.
Let’s be precise.
Nearly 3,000 people were murdered on September 11, 2001.
Office workers.
Firefighters.
Cops.
Flight attendants.
People sitting at their desks who had absolutely nothing to do with whatever grievance Hasan Piker had with American foreign policy.
So spare me the intellectual gymnastics.
You can write a fucking dissertation about American interventionism without saying America “deserved” the worst terrorist attack in its history.
That’s not sophisticated.
That’s not courageous.
And it sure as hell isn’t some profound insight that the rest of us are simply too stupid to understand.
It’s contempt dressed up as political analysis.
THE MOST AMERICAN ANTI-AMERICAN STORY IMAGINABLE
And here’s the part that really gets me.
Hasan Piker has built an enormously successful career in America criticizing America.
Think about that contradiction for a minute.
This country gives him the freedom to sit in front of a camera and say some of the most vicious shit imaginable about the country itself.
Nobody kicks down his door because he criticized the government.
Nobody throws him into prison because he attacked American foreign policy.
He gets to broadcast it.
Monetize it.
Build an audience around it.
And become a political celebrity doing it.
That’s his right.
I don’t want the government shutting Hasan Piker up.
I want Americans to fucking listen to him.
Because freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from criticism.
It means Hasan gets to say America deserved 9/11.
And it means the rest of us get to say:
What the fuck is wrong with you?
THEN THERE’S IMMIGRATION
Piker’s politics on immigration aren’t exactly subtle either.
He has repeatedly used his platform to attack ICE and promote the movement to abolish it. In a 2026 political discussion on his stream, the conversation explicitly centered on abolishing ICE and rebuilding the immigration system around pathways to citizenship. In another interview on his program, congressional candidate Melat Kiros advocated an immediate pathway to citizenship for every undocumented immigrant already in the country while Piker questioned her about abolishing ICE. People are free to support that.
I’m free to think it’s fucking insane.
A sovereign country is allowed to have borders.
A country is allowed to decide who enters it.
A country is allowed to enforce immigration law.
And Americans who believe that aren’t monsters because some millionaire streamer tells his audience they should feel guilty about it.
You want immigration reform?
Let’s debate immigration reform.
You want a better legal immigration system?
Great.
You want Congress to change immigration law?
Elect people and change the fucking law.
But abolishing immigration enforcement while creating extraordinarily broad pathways for people already here illegally isn’t some minor administrative adjustment.
It’s a fundamental political choice about whether immigration law means anything.
Americans are allowed to reject it.
AND THEN HIS DOG YELPED
Here’s another thing I refuse to bullshit you about.
In October 2025, a clip from Piker’s livestream went viral after his dog, Kaya, suddenly yelped while Piker appeared to reach toward something.
People immediately accused him of activating a shock collar.
Piker denies it.
And unlike people who decide what happened based on which political team they belong to, I’m going to tell you what we can actually prove.
The clip exists.
The dog yelped.
Piker acknowledged owning and using a vibration training collar in other circumstances, but he says Kaya was wearing a regular collar during the incident and says he did not shock her.
There has not been independent verification proving that Piker electrically shocked the dog.
Even Piker acknowledged that the clip looked terrible. (TMZ)

That’s what adults used to do before the internet turned every fucking controversy into two armies screaming predetermined conclusions at one another.
And while we’re at it, stop pretending a Twitch stream somehow transforms everything that happens on it into meaningless internet bullshit.
The man has political influence.
Which brings me to the part that should actually wake people up.
ABDUL EL-SAYED
Hasan Piker isn’t merely some guy screaming into a webcam anymore.
Politicians are embracing him.
Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed campaigned alongside Piker immediately before his 2026 primary.
And today, August 9, El-Sayed defended his association with him on Meet the Press.
Asked about Piker’s “America deserved 9/11” remark, El-Sayed characterized it as a dumb statement being taken out of context and pushed back against demands that he distance himself from Piker as a return to “cancel culture.” He also left open the possibility of continuing to appear with him during the general election campaign. Are you fucking kidding me?
We’re doing “cancel culture” now?
Nobody is asking Hasan Piker to disappear.
Nobody is suggesting he shouldn’t be allowed to stream.
We’re asking why a man who wants to become a United States senator is comfortable politically associating himself with someone who said the United States deserved 9/11.
That’s a legitimate fucking question.
And “cancel culture” isn’t an answer.
It’s an escape hatch.
STOP HIDING BEHIND THE STREAM
This is where I think people are making a huge mistake with Piker.
They dismiss him because he’s a streamer.
It’s just Twitch.
It’s just internet culture.
It’s just Hasan being Hasan.
Bullshit.
When politicians campaign with you, you aren’t merely an entertainer anymore.
When candidates seek your audience, you’re participating in politics.
When national political figures are being asked whether they accept your place in their coalition, you’re participating in politics.
And once you’ve entered that arena, the things you’ve said matter.
All of them.
Piker is perfectly willing to exercise the enormous freedoms America gives him while building a lucrative platform around attacking American institutions, American foreign policy and huge portions of the American electorate.
Again: he has every right to do it.
That’s America.
That’s the fucking point.
But something has gone badly wrong when we’re told that examining those statements is somehow unfair.
No.
You said it.
Own it.
“AMERICA DESERVED 9/11.”
I keep coming back to those words because people desperately want us to move past them.
Seven years have passed.
We’re supposed to understand the context now.
We’re supposed to understand what he really meant.
We’re supposed to understand that foreign policy is complicated.
I understand all of that.
Here’s what his defenders need to understand:
Americans are not required to forget.
And we’re not required to pretend words suddenly stop mattering because the person saying them has millions of followers.
Hasan Piker has every constitutional right to despise American policy.
He can attack capitalism while profiting in a capitalist economy.
He can attack immigration enforcement.
He can attack American foreign policy.
He can sit on Twitch for hours explaining why everybody criticizing him is wrong.
God bless America.
Seriously.
Because the fact that he can do every fucking bit of that without fearing the government is one of the strongest arguments for the country he spends so much time condemning.
And I don’t want to silence him.
I want the microphone turned all the way the fuck up.
Let America hear him.
Let voters hear him.
Let them hear the 9/11 statement.
Let them hear his politics.
Let them hear his explanations.
And then when politicians like Abdul El-Sayed decide that this is somebody worth standing beside, campaigning beside and defending, let voters judge them, too.
That’s democracy.
No censorship required.
No cancellation required.
Just accountability.
WAKE THE FUCK UP
This isn’t about whether Hasan Piker hurt your feelings.
Mine aren’t hurt.
I’m pissed because Americans have developed this bizarre habit of treating political extremism as harmless when it comes wrapped in memes, livestreams and an enormous online following.
A wolf doesn’t become a fucking golden retriever because somebody gave it a Twitch account.
So wake up.
Pay attention to who politicians are courting.
Pay attention to who is influencing political movements.
Pay attention when someone tells you what he thinks about your country.
And for God’s sake, stop allowing “you took it out of context” to function like some magical fucking eraser.
Hasan Piker told America exactly who Hasan Piker is.
You don’t have to censor him.
You don’t have to cancel him.
You don’t even have to hate him.
Just fucking believe him.
