I’ve Been Screaming This Shit for Months. Then Bibi Said It at the UN.
There are moments when you’re watching the news and you think, Holy fucking shit. He actually said it.
This was one of those moments.
Benjamin Netanyahu stood at the podium of the United Nations General Assembly.
In New York fucking City.
And called out Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Hasan Piker by name.
I nearly fell out of my chair.
Because I have been screaming about this shit into the internet for MONTHS.
Hasan Piker.
Zohran Mamdani.
The normalization of rhetoric that, in my opinion, would have gotten almost anyone else politically radioactive five minutes after saying it.
I’ve posted about it. I’ve argued about it. I’ve pulled receipts. I’ve watched people dismiss the entire conversation as right-wing hysteria, Islamophobia, propaganda, or whatever fucking buzzword was available that afternoon.
Then the Prime Minister of Israel walked into New York City, stepped in front of the entire fucking world and essentially said:
We’re going to talk about it.
That was the part that got me.
Not because Netanyahu magically validated every opinion I have. He didn’t. And agreeing with somebody on one subject does not require adopting every position they have on every other subject.
It got me because the people he named weren’t obscure figures buried in some weird corner of the internet.
One is the mayor of New York City.
The other is one of the most influential political streamers in America.
And Piker really did say, “America deserved 9/11” in 2019. He later called the remark inappropriate and said he did not mean that Americans deserved to die.
That context belongs here.
So does the original fucking statement.
Especially when we’re talking about New York.
Especially when we’re talking about 9/11.
And especially when the Prime Minister of Israel is standing a few miles from Ground Zero saying his name from the podium of the United Nations.
You couldn’t script the fucking symbolism better.
Netanyahu then turned directly to Mamdani.
And whatever you think about Netanyahu—and Jesus Christ, there are enough opinions about that man to fill the East River—the sheer political audacity of the moment was fucking remarkable.
Mamdani had spent months attacking Netanyahu, calling him a war criminal and saying he wanted him arrested if he came to New York. Mamdani eventually acknowledged that the NYPD doesn’t have the authority to execute the International Criminal Court warrant.
Netanyahu came anyway.
And then used the biggest diplomatic stage in the world, in Mamdani’s own city, to answer him.
Fucking boss move.
You don’t have to like Netanyahu to understand what you just watched.
And apparently Bibi didn’t come to New York to exchange fucking fruit baskets.
He came with receipts.
He specifically brought up Piker.
That matters to me because I’ve watched the Hasan Piker conversation unfold for months, and every time someone points to his actual words, the conversation somehow becomes about the person pointing at them.
Stop.
I’m tired of that shit.
If somebody says something outrageous, I am allowed to discuss the outrageous thing they fucking said.
Piker has defended himself repeatedly. He says he is not antisemitic. He describes himself as anti-Zionist. He argues that many clips of his commentary are stripped of context, and he has acknowledged or apologized for some past statements.
Fine.
Put that on the table too.
Then put the fucking clips next to it.
Adults can look at both.
That’s what I’ve been doing.
That’s why watching Netanyahu say Hasan Piker’s name from that podium felt fucking surreal.
This wasn’t some anonymous X account screaming into the algorithm anymore.
The argument had traveled all the way to the United Nations General Assembly.
And Mamdani wasn’t some candidate anymore either.
He’s the mayor of the city hosting the fucking thing.
Mamdani responded afterward by calling Netanyahu’s claims “baseless lies” and again accusing Netanyahu and Israel of genocide against Palestinians.
That’s his response.
People can read it.
People can hear Netanyahu’s accusations.
People can watch Piker’s own words.
And then people can make up their own fucking minds.
That’s the part of political discourse we’ve apparently forgotten.
You don’t need me to decide for you.
You don’t need Netanyahu to decide for you.
You don’t need Mamdani, Hasan Piker, CNN, Fox News, TikTok, X, or some blue-check asshole screaming in your comments to decide for you.
Listen to what people actually say.
Look at what they actually do.
Keep the fucking receipts.
I’ve been doing exactly that for months.
So yes, I enjoyed the hell out of watching this one.
Because there is something profoundly satisfying about spending months yelling, “WOULD EVERYBODY PLEASE LOOK AT THIS SHIT,” and then watching the Prime Minister of Israel walk onto the world stage in New York City and basically point at the same fucking thing.
I was sitting there thinking:
BIBI.
THANK YOU.
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TELL THEM.
And whether you love Netanyahu, hate Netanyahu, love Mamdani, hate Mamdani, watch Hasan Piker every day or wouldn’t recognize him if he fell through your fucking ceiling—
the conversation is out of the internet basement now.
It made it to the UN.
And I am not going to pretend I didn’t enjoy every fucking second of that.
